In Hiroshige Ando's ukiyoe “Tokaido - Goju-san-tsugi” (Hoei-do version), which is also popular overseas, the Yui Pass is depicted as a sheer precipice, and the figure appears to be about to fall down a 45-degree slope. The bold composition shows how difficult this place was. 　It was only after the great earthquake of 1854 that the coastline became safely passable without the difficult Satta Pass. 　Today, major construction work has been carried out on the stale coastline, and the Tokaido Main Line, National Route 1, and the Tomei Expressway, Japan's main transportation arteries, pass through the area as if they were bundled together. You can take a cab up to the middle of Mt. Satto, which juts out into Suruga Bay, and look down on this bundle from the Satto Pass, and on a clear day you can see Mt. 　Fuji on a clear day. After seeing this spectacular view painted by Hiroshige, head to the Tokaido Hiroshige Art Museum!

After admiring Hiroshige's ukiyoe landscapes at Satta Pass, be sure to stop by the Tokaido Hiroshige Art Museum. This museum exhibits masterpieces by Hiroshige Ando, an ukiyoe artist of the Edo period, and is a place where visitors can gain a deeper understanding of Japanese history and culture. In particular, the “Tokaido-gojyu-san-tsugi"(ifty-three Stages of the Tokaido” )series offers visitors a direct experience of Hiroshige's artistic vision of the world, with its colorful depictions of landscapes throughout Japan, including the Satta Pass. In addition, visitors can enjoy a simple Ukiyo-e making experience here and learn how prints are made and the process of production in a fun way. This unique experience of creating your own Ukiyo-e print will make a great souvenir or memory of your trip! Jichi-in Temple in Yui, Shizuoka Prefecture, has a beautiful ”Karesannsui-garden”garden! The main hall was built in 1926 and the Kyakuden Kori was built in 1995, and the current head priest is the 27th generation. The current head priest, Hiromichi Ayukawa, is the 27th generation. In addition to sutra copying, visitors can freely play instruments used in Buddhist rituals, such as mokugyo,　orin and taiko(japanese drums） inside the hall, making it a place where visitors can casually enjoy Japanese Buddhist culture. Jichi-in Temple, where you can experience the nature, history, and culture of Yui, is sure to be a highlight of your peaceful trip!
