We guarantee an exclusive experience, off the beaten path, for those seeking something else.
What makes Private Tour Amazing North Cotentin Peninsula From Cherbourg a unique experience ?
Built between 1829 and 1834, the Gatteville lighthouse is the second highest in France, with an height of 75 metres. Climb the 365 steps and admire the magnificent panorama of the Saire as well as the English Channel.
Overlooking the English Channel on the northeastern corner of the Cotentin peninsula, this picturesque port has strong historic links with England. The delicious moules de Barfleur are wild mussels harvested just out to sea. With its sturdy granite houses and tempting restaurants around the harbour, Barfleur paints a glorious picture of a traditional Norman fishing port. It also played a role in Anglo-French history, from 1066 through to colonial wars. Enjoy a nice lunch on the port.
Recently voted ‘France’s favourite Village’, Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue is a real hidden gem on the Cotentin peninsula. So much more than a seaside village Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue is a picturesque fishing and sailing village located in the Val de Saire at the north-east tip of the Cotentin peninsula. The village is famed for its oysters and, at low tide, the oyster beds provide a link between the mainland and Tatihou Island. Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue is also home to the Vauban de la Hougue tower, which stands at the entrance of the small harbour and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, along with its sister tower on the island opposite. With 700 berths, Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue’s marina is one of Normandy’s largest. Sample the famous oysters or stroll through the village.
WWII Museum in Quinéville. A unique museum that recreates the French Norman towns under the German occupation. 1000 m² with hundreds of historical objects. Walk a 1940 street and feel transported back in time.
