Why choose this tour ?

The Private Tour to Fátima departs from Lisbon and after approximately 1h30 of travel, you will arrive at Fátima. This is one of the most famous Catholic Sanctuaries in the world visited by 6 million people every year. The visit begins in Aljustrel, a small village close to the Sanctuary, where you will be able to visit the houses where the 3 children who witnessed the apparitions of the Virgin Mary lived. Afterwards, you will head towards the Sanctuary, where you will have free time to visit the main buildings there, such as the Chapel of the Apparitions, the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary (where Lúcia, Francisco and Jacinta are buried), the Basilica of the Holy Trinity (the largest church in the Sanctuary, with capacity for over 9,000 people) and the Museum of the Shrine of Fátima, where you can learn even more about the history of the place. After getting to know the Sanctuary and all the beauty and spirituality that surrounds it, you will head back to Lisbon (1h30 travel time).

What makes Private Half-Day Tour to Fatima Sanctuary from Lisbon a unique experience ?

This is a place known, above all, for being the place of origin of the three shepherd children, Lúcia dos Santos and her cousins Francisco and Jacinta Marto, visionaries of the apparitions of Fátima.

This is the house where Lucia, the other shepherdess who witnessed the apparitions of the Virgin Mary and described how this event happened, was born and raised.

You will visit the house where Francisco and Jacinta, two of the shepherd children who witnessed the apparition of Our Lady, were born and lived.

One of the most iconic buildings in the sanctuary, the Basilica was built close to the site of the apparitions and opened in the 1950s. It is there that the tombs of the three shepherds, Lúcia, Francisco and Jacinta, are located.

This is the first building built in the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fátima, built exactly on the site where the apparitions of the Virgin Mary took place in 1917.

It is the most recent building in the sanctuary complex, with capacity for up to 8,000 people. It is here that the sanctuary masses are usually held.

The Museum of the Sanctuary of Fátima brings together offerings from pilgrims, historical, artistic and ethnographic documents and testimonies of pilgrimages. Among the highlights are the crown of the statue of Our Lady of Fátima, which has embedded in it the bullet that hit John Paul II in 1981.
