The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities—commonly known as the Egyptian Museum or the Museum of Cairo—is located in Cairo, Egypt, and houses one of the world's most extensive collections of ancient Egyptian artifacts. The museum holds around 120,000 items, with a portion on public display while the rest are kept in storage. Constructed in 1901 by the Italian firm Garozzo-Zaffarani, the building remains one of the largest museums in the region. As of March 2019, it is open to the public. However, it is expected to be succeeded by the new Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza, scheduled to open in 2020.

The Giza Pyramid Complex, also known as the Giza Necropolis, is located on the Giza Plateau in Egypt. It encompasses the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure, along with their respective complexes and the iconic Great Sphinx of Giza. These monumental structures were all constructed during the Fourth Dynasty of Egypt’s Old Kingdom. The site also contains several ancient cemeteries and the remnants of a workers' village.

The Great Sphinx of Giza, often simply called the Sphinx, is a limestone statue depicting a reclining sphinx—a mythical creature with a lion's body and a human head. It faces directly from west to east and is situated on the Giza Plateau, on the west bank of the Nile River in Giza, Egypt.

Papyrus was an early form of a book and is believed to have originated in Egypt, dating back as far as the First Dynasty. It was made from the papyrus plant, which once grew abundantly along the Nile River.
