Upon arriving in Cairo, our first stop will be the Egyptian Museum, the world's largest museum dedicated to ancient Egyptian art. Located in Tahrir Square in downtown Cairo, the museum was built in 1900 and officially opened in 1902. It houses an extensive collection of over 150,000 artifacts spread across two floors and more than 100 halls. Among its many treasures, you’ll find objects from various excavations, including approximately 1,700 items from Tutankhamun's tomb, as well as mummies and intricately decorated coffins—many of which remain remarkably well-preserved. A visit to the Egyptian Museum offers a fascinating and insightful journey into Egypt's rich history.

After all these wonderful impressions, we finally go to a nice local restaurant for lunch.

We continue to the impressive pyramids of Giza. The Pyramiden of Giza are among the most famous and oldest preserved structures of mankind; they stand on the western edge of the Nile Valley. The Giza pyramid field has been an important cemetery since the 1st Dynasty. The pyramids of Giza were built around 2620 to 2500 BC. Afterwards we visit the famous Sphinx in Cairo, not far from the Khafre Temple. The Great Sphinx is by far the most famous and largest Sphinx. It depicts a lying lion with a human head and was probably built in the 4th Dynasty around 2520 to 2494 BC. The Sphinx has risen from the sands of the Egyptian desert for more than four millennia. The Sphinx was carved from the remains of a limestone hill that served as a quarry for the Great Pyramiden.
