Our hands-on archivist experience at the Hawaiian Mission Houses Historic Site and Archives offers a truly unique opportunity to walk in the shoes of a historian and archivist for three hours in a historically renowned institution. You will get exclusive access to rare historical artifacts and documents, along with a chance to actively contribute to the preservation of Hawai'i's rich cultural heritage. Unlike a traditional museum tour, you get to interact and become intimate with little-known details of Hawaiʻi’s past, allowing you to explore the history and also leave a lasting impact by doing an analysis of an archival document or photo that will be used by researchers worldwide - all while being guided by an expert historian and archivist. Lastly, your name will be credited on the digitized record as a contributor on our digital collection website!

Join us for a day of historical discovery and artifact preservation, where you’ll dive into the complex and rich history of 19th-century Hawai'i with a curated, hands-on journey that includes:  * Missions Cemetery Tour: Start with a guided tour of the Hawaiian Missions Cemetery, introducing key historical figures buried there  * Curated Artifact Exploration: While in Hawaiʻi’s oldest still-standing house, you will explore curated artifacts that reflect the impact of Protestant missionaries on Hawaiian society, the transformation of local life through cross-cultural exchanges, and the broader historical changes that influenced the Hawaiian Kingdom’s political transitions. * Artifact Discovery, Analysis, & Care: Handle, analyze, and care for authentic historical artifacts from the 1800s, such as letters and photos, and have your name credited as a contributor on the digital record! * A swag bag of souvenirs from our gift shop, which includes a ticket for a tour of the historic houses!
