What makes Private Lankaran Tour a unique experience ?

Murakhmad Khan’s Palace is famous for being the first multi-story building in the one-story Lankaran. This three-story manor house was built of red bricks and local white stone by French architects in 1913. Therefore, it combines both European and Azerbaijani traditional architectural features. Today, there is aMuseum of History and Regional Studies named after M.A. Aliyev. It contains swords, shields, utensils, books, household items, and other interesting exhibits.

The house museum of the Hero of the Soviet Union, a prominent military commander and the major general Hazi Aslanov, was opened on May 9, 1969(on Victory Day of Azerbaijan). The first director of the museum was Khaver Aslanova who is H.Aslanov's wife. In 1983 the exposition of the museum was expanded and reconstructed. The exposition consists of five rooms. In 2011, the museum was completely renovated. The museum consists of 5 sections and rooms. First room is the ethnographic room reflects the environment where he was born and dying. The things in this room belong to mother of H.Aslanov. His sister Asiya Aslanova gave them to the museum. Second room is dedicated to the years of education and military service of him. The third room is dedicated to the fights for Moscow and Stalingrad (1941-1943). The fourth room is dedicated to the fight for the Primorye and Belarus (1944-1945). Last room is commemorative hall, Different presents to the house, the battle clothes on the day of his death, souvenirs, his albums and books are protected in this room.

Lankaran is quiet town on the Caspian. A centre of the local green-tea industry, it was once famed for its fishing, its native “Iron-wood” [a species of bog-oak that sinks in water] and for the former prison that once held captive Joseph Stalin, when he was causing trouble amongst the oil workers of Baku in 1905.

You can spend a happy hour or two wandering about the tree-lined streets, walking through the bustling fruit and vegetable market, full of pomegranates, apples, pears and lemons that are the local specialities at this time of the year. Women in colourful dresses and headscarves invited us to try their wares as we wove our way between the stalls.
